Whale Watching is our recurring segment where we highlight the most significant option buys by smart money. This is what we saw yesterday:

I’m generally not a fan of 0dte contracts. I share this one as the trend has been these last minute contracts getting slid in at the end of the trading day have been doing phenomenal. This one is likely to be no different. We were up 7% on the contract when the market closed, but this was $5-$6 OTM when the trade was issued and as we sit in premarket we are now in the money. This contract is poised to be up very nicely upon open. These whale flows are important to follow. Not every flow is good flow, but when you get used to analyzing it and can find the quality flow it can really lead to solid returns and explosive trades. This one appears to be one of those trades.

Yesterday, SPY gamma got rearranged shortly after the market open. We noticed that happen and were able to jump on a nice trade and generate some profit. Today, we see the bulk of gamma sitting at support at $755. We see positive gamma built up overhead with cascading negative gamma at $753 and below. Until we specifically shift out of this bullish environment I continue to be heavily skewed towards this being a day where the market grinds up through that positive gamma. As always, I want to see how the market opens and watch gamma develop in real time. That always is the ultimate indicator for if/when a trade is made. For now, expect to see more of the grind up continue!
