Whale Watching is our recurring segment where we highlight the most significant options purchases from the previous trading day:

This was one of the very few alerts we received yesterday. There wasn’t much to share today so I thought I’d share this. Our scanner caught the options activity before the google news actually dropped. This put gained 244% in a very quick way due to some news events at GOOG. The urgent repeater alert is a favorite of our live members and one that we are always watching for to come across our dashboard!

SPY is about flat on the day as I type this during premarket. We have pretty decent negative gamma below and some positive gamma situated overhead. My initial read on this gamma map is that we could be looking at a red day today. Especially with the way the market closed yesterday it makes me think that we need to cool off after the massive run we went on to set new all time highs. That being said, we can’t ignore that there is exposure overhead. If we trend upward it could certainly come into play. As always, I plan to see how we open and trade accordingly. I like to get a live look on gamma before I make my final decision on how to trade it.
