Good Morning!

Yesterday brought a ton of volatility to the markets with the fed’s decision to hike interest rates by 25 bps. This was expected but it ramped up the markets none the less. We took the day off from trading officially as we new the day would come win intense volatility and the announcement wasn’t until 2 and commentary at 2:30 leaving little time to trade after.

Our group is still on a tremendous winning streak as we have won 42 of our last 43 trading days and 31 consecutive trading days. Since we started daily credit spreads on SPY I have added $31,165.39 in profits. The craziest part is that i started this experimental account with $10,000 meaning that this strategy has essentially quadrupled my account in this short amount of time.

Markets are up sharply this morning by over 1 and a quarter percent after having a bit of time to digest the rate hikes and commentary provided. The markets like certainty and they have that now which is a good thing. The more the markets learn about Warsh and how he will operate at the fed the more that will help between bridging the gap between uncertainty and expectancy. I think we are getting closer to that. Today we find ourselves in positive gamma territory. I’m not so sure today comes without volatility, though. These days still tend to have some settling out. We will see how it settles. I will give it some time to digest and play it conservatively as I always do. I will also wait to get a real time read of gamma once the market is open to make my final decision of how to open a spread against this. I obviously want to find the top on a day like today and open a bear call spread. We will see how that materializes.
