Yesterday was another great day trading for the live alerts group and myself. We completed another profitable spread setup which was our 61st winner out of 63 attempts which is an incredible win rate! We did a bear call spread which got squeezed a little bit early on but we new our technical levels and those levels held true and things shaped up very quickly. It was a nice and profitable day to start the week!

For those of you who don’t know, every day I trade a spread on SPY. I use GEX exposure as pictured above to understand where dealers are positioned. I try to position outside of major areas and allow my spread to expire near harmlessly which is profitable for me. Today SPY is up a quarter of a percent in the premarket. There is positive gamma overhead with some negative gamma underneath as well. The exposure actually seems pretty evenly distributed right now. I like to see where dealers are overweighted at as that can sometimes tip the cap of what direction we may be leaning with price action. As always, wait or the market to open and price action to go live to get a live read on gamma. Once we can see how it materializes when the market is open that tells us a lot about how we can trade it during the day. Learning how to read and trade using GEX will change your life.
