Yesterday, SPY chopped around all day but created plenty of predictable opportunities to trade it.

This is a gamma interval map. I use this to help predict the movements with SPY and trade accordingly. I also share those predictions with our live community and discord.

Yesterday we called the initial bounce off of 740, the retest and fade on 743, and then to go short with puts if 740 is lost. We then called final support at 738 where you can see it bounced hard at the end of the day.

Being able to see gamma support build up in real time is an incredibly helpful tool to time entry.

Whale Watching is our recurring segment where we highlight significant options buys by smart money.

This alert went off late in the day and is certainly notable. There hasn’t been many quality alerts over the past few trading days. This is not a position I am currently in but at the very least the flow looked decent. I also graded the flow and it came back as a “B” on an A to F scale which is pretty good. This is one that I will be keeping an eye on in the coming days to see if additional flow comes through or if this was an isolated happening.

SPY is currently up around a half of a percent as we sit premarket. 743 currently acts as the primary positioning node of dealers. We are currently showing a positive gamma environment which will act as a dampener generally. The key that we want to pay attention to here is if SPY resumes a grind up that it had been at for weeks or will we slip back into negative gamma territory which injects much more volatility and choppiness into SPY. I also want to see how gamma responds when the market goes live. Generally speaking, if you watch where gamma is building up it can give you a leg up on the directional move the market is beginning to make.

We will watch closely to see how it plays out today and if any potential trades come into view.
