Whale Watching is our recurring segment where we share the most significant options purchases by smart money from the previous trading day.

Yesterday high volume on this NVDA contract triggered the “urgent repeater” alert. This means that someone or a group of people were loading up on this particular NVDA contract in an urgent and repeated fashion. These orders are aggressive and intentional and are meant to build out a position quickly. That doesn’t just automatically mean something is going to go up in value. However, I always take note of what these contracts are doing and where people are quickly allocating large amounts of capital. For now this is just a watch for me but I will be keeping my eye on it and will alert if I actually take a position.

Just a refresher for those new to reading this publication. The image I am showing is the gamma exposure with daily expirations on each of the following strike prices. This gamma exposures tells me how price action should react at certain ranges and allows me to position my trades accordingly. As we sit here premarket, SPY is up slightly from yesterday’s close. We have decently sized positive gamma above which should be a price stabilizer. Watch for the negative gamma at 772 and below as this is where price action could become more volatile and violent. Ultimately, I want to wait to see how the market opens and make my decisions from there when I can get a live look on gamma.
