Whale Watching is our recurring segment where we highlight the most notable options purchases by smart money from the previous trading day.

There were lots of PLTR alerts yesterday and for good reason. Our initial alert issued is already up over 200%! That being said, I am sharing it today because there is potential that it still has room to go as this $170 call came later in the day. With any runner, don’t be left holding a bag when it runs out of steam. However, this one has been pretty powerful after it’s earnings release earlier this week. This isn’t one that I hold but I will be watching today to see if the run continues.

SPY is up another half percent this morning after smashing all time highs yesterday. It has been incredibly strong and showing no signs of slowing down. As the previous 4 trading days, positive gamma is stacked overhead that it will look to systematically work its way through and establish as new support. We still can’t lose sight of the negative gamma positioned below if it were to sell off. That negative gamma does still matter when we finally do cool off and things trend down. For now, I lean in the direction of similar trading to the past few days. We likely make our way upward with continued strength. Of course, I will reserve my final judgement for when the market opens and I get a live view of gamma exposure.
